Introduction
More than 20 years ago, a playful genius, unique in the entire world, burst upon the personal development scene proclaiming loudly and unabashedly that average people like you and I had the ability to heal ourselves from illness, reach genius levels of brain / mind / body intelligence, and take definitive control of our thoughts and behaviors by simply listening to specific sounds and frequencies.
As you can imagine, that man, Dr. John-David ignited a fire-storm of controversy within the comfortable confines of the1980’s medical and intellectual establishments. His fervent belief that the application of specific auditory tones, organic sounds, and sound combinations could actually assist the body to heal itself, increase one’s ability to learn, enhance the I.Q. level of the average person, eliminate self-sabotaging behaviors, and open the pathways to massive personal transformation was more than most people could grasp.
Even though the following paper was authored by John-David in 1988, it is a prime example of his amazing clarity on the subject of the true relationship of the brain/mind and body. Not waiting for science to catch up to reality, the John-David Learning Institute began to produce commercial applications of sound and subliminal technologies unlike any that the world had ever heard before. The results of this effort were astounding even by today’s standards.
By the late 1980s, the John-David Learning Institute of Carlsbad, California had developed a passionate following of thousands of people (many are still active clients) who were searching for and receiving answers to questions that the western medical and academic models of understanding were incapable of addressing.
His theoretical model that the brain/mind/body complex was an integrated, dynamic, intelligent system that could be accessed, balanced and trained by sound was beginning to be recognized and substantiated by some of the world’s leading experts in neuropsychology, neurophysiology, immunology, audio dynamics, and accelerated learning.
Before his death in 1988, John-David’s audio programs and “intensive” seminars had drawn international media attention and acclaim. Others soon tried to emulate his success and an entire industry of sound, healing, and limitless personal growth was born.
Today, researchers the world over are breaking the “code” of mind-body integration and the role of vibrational harmonics (psycho-acoustics) in health, wellness and personal growth. New paradigms of understanding have allowed us to “see” into the quantum levels of what it really means to be human; a fully integrated, universally connected, organism of pure vibrational energy and form. Simply put, John-David was right.
